Ubisoft's PvP game, Roller Champions, has exciting news to share as they have recently announced the inclusion of Jet Set Radio. You need to make yourself faster with the sloping walls around you manually. Despite the smaller number of players, the equally small size of this game’s arenas makes for challenging PVP matches. However, Ubisoft’s game is charming in its own right. Driving the car with Rocket League’s overly fast physics engine is also challenging to pick up in a few minutes. You must move over marked spaces on the map for a speed boost. It has several different modes, such as a hockey game or a basketball game. Rocket League has four players for each team instead. However, there are more fundamental differences apart from skates and hoops and cars and goals. Both games have almost-similar premises-Roller Champions is roller-skating as you play basketball in a way, while Rocket League is scoring a soccer goal with a rocket-boosted car. Roller Champions had been quickly compared to Rocket League when it was unveiled. Whatever your strategy, you must coordinate well with your team to hold onto the ball for as long as possible. It’s then a tempting challenge to try completing three risky laps for that guaranteed win of five points. I think that by the end of the year, Roller Champions will be in a strong place that will set it up for long term success. What makes this even more challenging is that you can make laps of more than one to multiply your score when you finally shoot the ball-two laps net you three points, while three give you five. Roller Champions needs a few more permanent game modes to keep people interested, and would benefit from having some sort of event going on all the time. The core concept is a winner, and there is plenty of room for expansion. Engaging game sensations and refreshing mechanics make this new free-to-play game a. Roller Champions is off to a strong start, and seems to be headed in the right direction. Roller Champions is a small candy that is savored with pleasure. ![]() However, the developers have confirmed that it will be coming soon, which will greatly benefit the games broad base appeal. 5 comments Roller Champions is a free-to-play rollerbasketderbyball mash-up thats been a long time coming. This definitely seems like a feature that should have been included for launch (or certainly by season 1). As a result, for now you have to play on the same console to play with your friends. Additionally, while cross-play is in the game, you strangely cannot make a cross-platform party. My understanding is that most of these issues have now been resolved and people are having a far smoother experience. I personally ran into very few glitches in my time with Roller Champions. The opening of the game had its struggles many reported issues getting into matches and issues gaining “fans” or XP from those matches. That being said, I suspect those will be added as the game further develops. I really think 2 v 2 should be a core game mode. ![]() In the kickoff season, there were 2 limited time modes, one called hot potato (where you had to pass in a certain amount of time or the ball blew up), and another that was a 2v2 mode on a shorter rink. When you first start playing, you will find yourself skating straight-line laps around the arena. In order to succeed, you have to play as a team, and use various moves from the meta of the game to dodge opponents and pass at the right moment.Įasy to learn, hard to master is definitely a statement that applies to Roller Champions. If your team turns the ball over at any time, you lose your progress and have to start over. One lap gets you the ability to score 1 point, 2 laps = 3 points, and 3 laps = 5 points. The goal is for you to skate laps around the rink through gates, which opens the goal. The best way I can describe the core gameplay of Roller Champions is that it is a 3v3 mix of Roller Derby and Basketball.
